We believe in inspiring a life-long interest in a healthy lifestyle through a focus on physical education. Our classes help students develop a positive self-image, learn about good sportsmanship, and respect game rules and their competitors all while making daily activity an enjoyable part of their lives.
All early childhood and elementary Cottonwood School students participate in physical education classes for 1 day per week led by Physical Education Director, Kellie Nickerson. The students work on individual skills, as well as team-building skills with a strong emphasis on health and fitness. Our elementary students enjoy starting their day with a group exercise and jog before they enter the classroom. It gives the students the focus necessary for success in their classroom work. During individual classes, students explore various techniques in achieving personal fitness and flexibility through skill building games and activities including running and archery.
